Designing for how a learner and an AI share control of a video lesson.
This project compares three ways of delivering the same AI support during video learning: learner-initiated, continuously available, and system-initiated. Three functionally identical prototypes were built around a single lesson, changing only who begins the interaction and when it appears. A study with 21 learners examined how each paradigm shaped engagement, perceived control and knowledge gain.
